After much consideration I’ve decided that I’m going to be taking a break from the blog world. I have two very young boys and I just can’t find the extra time on the computer. Hello!! Have you missed me? Well, I’ve missed you!! I’ve been super taking care of my two boys, taking pictures and designing blogs!! Along with all the little projects I have: project life album {you need to check these out!!} and turning my family blog into a blog book!! I haven’t updated this blog at all in months, but rest assure you all are keeping me busy!! I am not complaining one bit…I love it!! I have decided to discontinue the scrapbooks and wood letters I have listed here on my site. I just can’t keep up with them. Thank you to all of you that have ordered these items from me!

I haven’t been keeping good screen shots of all of the blogs I have designed the past few months so here are just a few that I have done that I haven’t advertised! If you are in need of a blog makeover please let me know if you have any questions!

After posting the previous post, I was made aware that you could still click on my picture which would bring it into a new screen and you could then right click save it. Oh man! If you blog through Windows Live {for PC people} if you aren't you should be!! I think mac has a program called Blogo you must delete your photo’s source. You can then set this as an automatic setting so that every picture you upload is already set to it {thanks Holly!} Another person informed me that you can drag pictures to your desktop {say what!?} man…people I had NO idea! On my computer once I deleted the source I wasn’t able to drag them, but I’m not sure if this is true for everyone’s computer. Please chime in and let me know what works and what doesn’t!

I don't know about you, but I worry about everything! When I decided to start blogging {on my family blog} I was concerned with people taking my images. I mean, who would really want to take pictures of my boys? but there are some crazies out there! I heard a crazy story about someone finding a picture of their child in some Japanese magazine ad! Here is a little tip I have to make your blog just a little safer.

Ok, so I’ve done some research with no luck! Sooo…I thought I would come to the only place I know where to get the best advice! I’m looking for some drapes for my son’s room. I want them to be brown and white striped {horizontal stripes} and thicker like the picture below. I haven’t made it to a fabric store yet. I was hoping to find some made…any ideas where to look??

I found these on design dazzle, but they are painted stripes. I was hoping to find some made entirely with fabric! I would love any and all suggestions on where to start! Thanks!!!

…because I have started making some Holiday burlap banners! Ahhh, my favorite time of year! The hot chocolate and fires roaring away in your fireplace while the family snuggles under a blanket watching a movie. I especially L.O.V.E decorating my house for Christmas. I usually start the day after Thanksgiving and it stays up all the way until after New Years! Here are just a few banners that I have already made. Remember I can do any color for the font and you can pick 2 color combos for your ribbon and tulle!

Remember that they aren’t just for your mantles! I think MERRY looks so sweet on my bookcase! Or even hanging in a doorway. Think of gifts for loved ones! Some other banners I have in the works are: fa la la, stop here {with santa in the middle}, noel, peace, joy, rejoice.

Pricing: up to 6 letters is $20 and for every additional letter will be $2. Shipping is $3 for one banner and an extra $1.50 for any additional banners.

I had a friend order a custom scrabook album from me for a babyshower recently and I was thrilled to make one for a little girl!! I love ALL things girly and since I have a little boy I hardly ever get the chance for pinks and greens! She sent me a link to the bedding for her nursery and I couldn’t believe that I had paper that was almost an identical match! She said it was a hit at the baby shower! Please check out other ones I have done in the past here. I have 3 more I am currently working on for various shower’s and gifts so stay tuned for pictures!

Here is an example of a “THANKFUL” banner that I just made. I also did “GIVE THANKS” but I forgot to take a picture of it….bummer!

I also just did “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” for a friend that is having her little girls birthday party on Halloween so I made it in the colors of her invitation. This one was really hard to get a good picture of because it is sooo long, but you get the idea!

Last fall I had stumbled across these images in Country Living Magazine and I bookmarked it. Well, a few weeks ago I found the same images and a kit on how to make them. Today I decided to give it a try. They were so easy! I haven’t decided on how I want to display them yet, but they will work here for now. I love all of the examples they give you in those pictures, but mine don’t quite look like theirs…don’t you hate when that happens!

I also made this big guy, but I have no plans for him yet. It’s a really messy project, but the silver ones look sort of like mercury glass which I’m obsessed with!

8. I have a family blog that I have been blogging on for almost 2 years! That is where I talk about my true loves!

9. When I was younger I loved shopping for clothes, but now that I’m an “adult” I love shopping for my house! Yes, that is when you know you are old ;)

10. I could probably live the rest of my life on chips and salsa! Not that out of the jar stuff, but the good stuff from a yummy Mexican restaurant! Ohhhh ya!

How my project went from this….

to this!

I think I’m going to hang it on a knob for my entry way table! This project was super easy and fun! I started with a round wooden plaque from the hobby store and painted it black. Then I distressed the edges and drilled 2 holes in it. Yes, I said drilled as in power tools! I called the hubby to double check what I should use for this and he hesitated for a moment and double checked what I had said. He then told me how nervous he was and to be careful…me not careful!? I practiced on a scrap piece of wood I had lying around and it was beyond easy! Maybe I have a future in power tools? Then I cut out my patterned cardstock and distressed the edges with black ink. Next step was to punch two holes in the paper that lined up with my two drilled holes. After that I just decoupaged the paper right on it. While that is drying I took some black cardstock, folded it in half and drew a bat shape. I folded it in half so that my bat would look symmetrical. I glittered him up and then added some foam pieces behind it so he would pop out. The next step is where I struggled. I knew I wanted it to say something fun like BOO! or Trick or Treat, but I didn’t know how to do it. I decided on some paint markers. My handwriting isn’t the best when it comes to projects like this, so I’m not super happy with it, but it will do. To finish it off I just tied some black ribbon and tulle through it and voila! I cute little Halloween decorations for well under $5! I’m sure someone out there will totally out do me, but that is ok! If you do this project please let me know so I can check yours out! Happy haunting…

literary pumpkins part deux

Ok, so you remember these that I posted a little while back? So fun if you ask me, but someone I know went and totally out did me! Don’t you hate when that happens!? Actually, I am happy because I LOVE this idea! I was going to just tie one ribbon around it after Halloween, but I L.O.V.E the having two colors. I really want to go buy some super fat ribbon so I can tie the skinny ribbon right in the middle, but this is what I had lying around my craft room. You can totally change it out for any season during the year {remove the stem of course}. What about some red and pink for February or greens for March. I just love a decoration that can be year round! Please go check out Andrea’s blog for her take on literary pumpkins! They came out adorable!

I just wanted to share one of the GRATEFUL banners that I did. I have done quite a few of this saying. I have done some in chocolate brown plaid and some in polka dots…either way they are just cute! L.O.V.E pillows!

I have this new found love for pillows! They can be quite pricey, so I’m not for that part of it! I have my basic pillows that I don’t mind spending a little bit of money for because they are my staples, the pillows that are pretty much out year round. BUT sometimes I want an extra pop of fun. These are up in my guest bedroom and really pop against the chocolate brown velvet pillow shams behind them.

What I did to make them? Bought some plain crisp white pillow cases {$6 each} and some transfer paper. I designed my image and printed it out. Then I cut out my design and ironed it on. They look so cute now! All I need is a house guest to come enjoy them!

These little guys were so easy to make! A few weeks back I decided to get a babysitter for the afternoon so I could browse the antique stores without any disruption and I came across the cutest store that had these with a robin’s egg blue ribbon tied around them {so me}. Of course, they didn’t have the jack-o-lantern face on them. I instantly wanted one, but thought I could totally make one, right!? Well, a few days ago I was browsing the blogs and stumbled across a site that had these! I thought they were adorable with the face on them! I decided to add a twig, leaf and wire to them just to spice them up a bit. After October 31st I’m going to remove the face and tie a ribbon around them and display it with a stack of books. This project was cheap-o! I ran to half price books and picked up a few books on clearance {$2 each}. It doesn’t matter what the book is about since you can’t read the words and you remove the cover. The small book I used was Catcher and the Rye and the bigger book was about some lady I had never heard about. I have one more book to do which is a little bit different of a shape, but my fingers are tired for now. All you do is fold each page in half towards the spine until you don’t have any more pages. Glue the last pages together. You may have to bend the book to get it to make a circle {it was a half circle} before I figured out you just need to work the book in a bit. Then cut out a face and add a few embellishments! Let me know if you decide to make one! I would love to check it out!

I just LOVE the look of Pottery Barn! Don’t you? I just don’t always love the price tag that comes along with it. When I can I use them for “inspiration".” I thought these jars were so cute! Totally vintage looking, but I didn’t want to spend $39 on 3 jars plus shipping.

I was at Ikea the other idea and found almost identical glass jars for $3.99 each and then cut out some number stickers with my cricut and voila!

Number jars for just $12. Now, I would love to make the numbers look old and vintage, but I haven’t figured that out yet. I tried sanding them down, but that just scratched the glass jars. I’ve also thought about using numbered rub-ons, but I haven’t found any big enough.

Any ideas? Suggestions? I’m all ears!!

I just finished this "V" initial to hang in a families home! They loved it so much that they ordered another letter just the other day. I'll be sure to post when it's done. These letters aren't just for children's rooms...
I also had an Insurance Agency order 10 letters that spelled out FBFS FAMILY. Each one is just a little bit different from the one before. I'm hoping to get a picture of them hung as soon as possible!

With Halloween coming up, I thought I would make some holiday decor! These wood letters spell out the word BOO. The background says "Trick or Treat" across the back with little spiders. They will hang from black ribbon. The price for all 3 is $30. Let me know if you are interested! I can also spell out any other holiday phrase you can think of! These would look so cute hung on your front door or anywhere in your house!I have a friend that is having a baby next week so I made her some letters to spell out her little boys name...NASH! She told me that he has a surfer room with primary colors. Here is what I came up with!

Choose either round or rectangle. The circle measures 6 3/4" in diameter and the rectangle is 9 1/2" X 6 3/4". Each letter comes hand painted and distressed with a design to match your needs. I also attach either a ribbon or sawtooth back to hang on the wall.

$14 letter- for rectangle

$12 letter- for square
